Makers in the Afternoon: Bringing Puppets to Life

  • East Roswell Recreation Center 9000 Fouts Road Roswell, GA, 30076 United States (map)

Makers in the Afternoon is a family friendly five-part series that features artistic, interactive demonstrations throughout Roswell's parks. Each event highlights a different form of art. Spend the afternoon in a park while experiencing the life of an artist! Makers in the Afternoon is presented by ArtAround.

Pre-registration Required: Join Emmy-nominated and nationally recognized touring artist, Lee Bryan, "That Puppet Guy" for a puppet making workshop. Celebrating over 20 years, Lee Bryan specializes in exceptional school assemblies and extraordinary library programs. Lee's solo performances are often featured at the internationally acclaimed The Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta.

Participants create a moving mouth puppet head using pre-cut corrugated cardboard shapes and “super sticky” tape. This step-by-step workshop was developed to build the basic puppet head and then participants are encouraged to customize their own unique character with supplemental materials provided.

Each session is 1 hour and will accommodate 15 participants.

The 4:30 session will open when the first two sessions fill.

Ticket Price: $12
